Lucknow: With belligerent Digvijay Singh as Congress In-charge in Uttar Pradesh, the party has entrusted the key responsibility of 2012 Assembly election campaign to old warhorse and Union Minister for Coal Sriprakash Jaiswal. By making the declaration, Congress has given a clear indication that it will leave no stone unturned in its endeavour to revive its lost glory in the biggest state of the country.

Union Law Minister Salman Khurshid has been given the charge of preparing the party’s election manifesto and actor turned politician Raj Babbar has been appointed the Chairman of Media Committee.

All the recently announced three committees of Congress will comprise 15 members each. The first list of party candidates and the election manifesto is expected to be launched soon.
The party stalwarts prepared the success roadmap for the mission in a meeting of State Election Committee at Lucknow party headquarters in presence of party General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on July 12.

Subodh Srivastav, State Congress Chief spokesman said, “Rita Bahuguna will be the Chief Coordinator while Pramod Tiwari will be the Co-coordinator for all the three committees."
Keeping in mind the internal bickering in the party cadres, the Congress central leadership has started monitoring each aspect related to the poll preparations.

State Congress president Rita Bahuguna said, “A letter will be written to the party head regarding the formation of Central Screening Committee and for the early declaration of party candidates for the 2012 assembly polls.”
