Mumbai:  The BSE benchmark Sensex on Saturday gained nearly 41 points at opening of the special 90-minutes trading on sustained buying by funds.

The Sensex, which gained 371 points in the last two trading sessions, advanced by 40.85, or 0.23 percent, to 17,724.58 in first five minutes of trading.

Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange Nifty index edged up 8.85 points, or 0.17 percent, at 5,350.95.

The both the stocks exchanges were open for a special 90-minutes to test their disaster recovery site.
