But, in Bangladesh, the occasion of Eid-al-Adha turned into a rather blood-stained sight in real sense when the streets of Dhaka turned into rivers of blood. It all started when the blood of sacrificed animals mixed with the rain water and started flowing on the roads of the Bangladesh capital.

This incident displayed the city corporation’s apathy towards keeping the streets clean and their failure in keeping the drainage systems functional.

While Dhaka's two city corporations have designated locations for animal sacrifice, the locations were not well used, with people sacrificing the animals in their garages, alleys, and streets, according to news website Prothom Alo.

According to the local residents, rain was the main reason they did not use the designated locations.
