Jammu: Taking stringent stance on the increasing cases of Defence land encroachment in Jammu & Kashmir, Union Minister of State for Defence MM Pallam Raju said that strict legal actions will be taken against people found guilty of illegally occupying the defence lands.

Talking to the media persons in the conference of Army School in Jammu on Wednesday, the Minister said that the complete process of maintaining records is getting computerized.

Responding to the question regarding 200 acres Defence land scam, Raju said “We will carry CBI probe into the issue and guilty will be legally charged.”

Earlier in its report to the Union Defence Minister AK Antony, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had alleged the involvement of officials of the Revenue Department and Defence into the country’s major land scam.

200 acres of Defence land in Budgam district of Kashmir Valley was allegedly transferred in the names of few people on the basis of fake documents.
