New Delhi: In a bid to control ragging inside the Delhi University campus, the students have been told to write on a stamp paper that they will not rag and the college was entitled to take disciplinary action against the culprit in the event of ragging.

The former member of anti-ragging committee and the principal of Ramjas College, Rajendra Prasad, said that the move was directed by the Supreme Court and added that the University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a format for the DU asking the students to write on stamp paper as an affidavit.

The warden of Dhaulat Ram College, Dr Kavita Verma said, “The initiative was taken to control ragging and violence against students.”

The vice principal of the Hindu college, Pradyuman Kumar, said, “The Supreme Court’s move is a welcome step which will  prove effective in checking ragging on the college premises.”
