"I will not enter politics I don't have any such ambition. I am very much happy being an actor as you get to do what you want,” Sunny said. (JPN/Agencies)
According to some reports, Sunny was likely to contest against Congress minister Manish Tewari from Ludhiana seat. However, Congress has replaced Tewari and given ticket to Ravneet Singh Bittu.
Sunny's father Dharmendra was BJP MP from Bikaner constituency in Rajasthan in 14th Lok Sabha.
Recently, Sunny campaigned for BJP candidate and former Mumbai police commissioner Satyapal Singh in Baghpat district of western Uttar Pradesh. He took part in a road show organised by Singh.
"If I like the candidate and he is good and needs support then I will be there. Satyapal Singh has done good things as commissioner of the city. He left everything and joined politics which is good. As we need that kind of people who are positive and will go out and do something good for the country," Sunny said. Sunny said citizens are "duty bound" to exercise franchise so as to elect "good" government.
