New Delhi: Mellow winter sunshine provided warmth to Delhiites from the nippy breeze Thursday morning as the country celebrated its 63rd Republic Day.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 9.3 degrees Celsius, a notch above average, said the India Meteorological department (IMD).The humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 72 percent.

According to IMD, the afternoon will be clear and sunny. The skies are expected to be partly cloudy towards the evening.

The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 22 degrees Celsius.

Wednesday's maximum temperature stood at 21.1 degrees Celsius, a notch below average for this time of the season, while the minimum was recorded a notch above average at 9 degrees.
