Lucknow: The political gallery in Uttar Pradesh is abuzz with Chief Minister Mayawati’s superstitious belief of contesting upcoming Assembly elections staying in the same house, 13 Mall Avenue, from where she had gained an absolute majority in the Assembly polls 2007.

Mayawati had chalked out strategy for the Assembly polls in 2007 from the same bungalow, which had been allotted to her as the former CM in 1993.

In 2007, she had given a complete makeover to this house. Her family visited the house located at 13 Mall Avenue last Saturday. Speculation is rife that the Chief Minister has started staying there instead of her official residence 5, Kalidas Marg.

According to party sources, the CM will make strategy for poll preparations at 13 Mall Avenue, while she will dispose of work at her official residence.

This bungalow is also at par with that of 5, Kalidas Marg as far as security is concerned. A total of 14 Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras are installed in the residence.

Modern safety equipments including bomb disposal squad are also installed here. The X-ray scanner, liquid scanner, vehicle search system, road blocker, metal detector, public address system have been set up in order to boost security arrangement.

The Congress termed it as the waste of public money, while the Samajwadi Party said the BSP has intention to recommend the premature dissolution of the state Assembly.
