New Delhi: The Supreme Court issued a notice to the Gujarat government regarding senior IAS officer Pradeep Sharma’s bail plea case. The IAS officer is accused in land allotment to private firms at low prices after the Gujarat quake.

In his plea, Pradeep Sharma accused Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi of torturing him. The IAS officer is in jail since February 14. The Supreme Court had declined his interim bail plea to celebrate Diwali with his family.

After high court rejected Sharma’s bail plea, he knocked the door of Supreme Court.

Sharma accused in illegal land allotment is the younger brother of senior IPS officer Kuldeep Sharma. According to Pradeep, Modi is torturing him as his elder brother Kuldeep pinned blame on Narendra Modi and Amit shah for the 2002 Godhra riots.

Pradeep Sharma’s lawyers Colin Gonsalves and Sunil Fernandes on Thursday requested for his bail and accused Gujarat government of trapping him in false cases. They said their client was arrested from a Delhi hotel on February 14 on false charges of staying in the hotel on basis of bogus name and address, Fernandes has questioned the basis and documents of Sharma’s arrest.

After listening to these accuses, Justice Aftab Alam and Ranjana Desai have issued a notice to the Gujarat government.  Gonsalves also requested for Sharma’s interim bail to celebrate Diwali with his family, but it was declined by the Judges.
