New Delhi: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Sunday flag off the first luxury bus service for the Buddhist circuit from Buddha Smriti Park. The 55-seater AC Volvo bus, by Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC), in the first phase will run from Patna to Gorakhpur via Vaishali, Kesariya and Kushinagar.

According to State Tourism Ministry officials, the BSTDC has made elaborate arrangements with a roadside dhaba to provide lunch to the travelling passengers.

The travellers would be provided mineral water free of cost.

Satte Tourism Minister Sunil Kumar Pintu and BJP MLA Nitin K Navin would be present on this occasion.

According to sources, BSTDC is also planning to introduce a regular Buddhist circuit bus from Raxaul in public-private partnership (PPP) mode.

New luxury buses would also be launched soon for places like Nalanda, Rajgir, Bodh Gaya, Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Bettiah, Lauria, Nandangarh, Valmiki Nagar, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Sitamarhi, Begusarai (famous for Kawar Jheel), Jainagar, Kishanganj, Sasaram, Bhagalpur and Kolkata.
