New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday by playing down senior leader Ram Jethmalani's remark opined, top party leaders are unhappy with party president Nitin Gadkari.

However party general secretary Vinay Katiyar taking stock of the situation has tried to put it in another dimension saying  “There is no dissent within the BJP. There are no differences, we are united. Ram Jethmalani's statement has no value".

Meanwhile, Nitin Gadkari met Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj at her residence in New Delhi. It is reported that Swaraj is of the view that the oldest and wisest leader in the party should preside over the position.

Gadkari will probably meet BJP veteran leader LK Advani today, sources said.

According to the reports, Ram Jethmalani, Yashwant Sinha and Jaswant Singh are scheduled to meet later in the day to chalk out the future course of action.

However, Ram Jethmalani had urged saying, “Nitin Gadkari should resign as BJP president immediately. Jaswant Singh, Yaswant Sinha and Satrughan Sinha are of similar view on Gadkari's resignation.” He added, “Will be happy to be expelled from the party for making the demand openly.”

Gadkari is under pressure to quit from his party post as the dissatisfaction over his issue in the party is getting wider  day by day. Gadkari is in the line of Opposition fire following media reports about dubious funding of his company Purti Sugar and Power.
