Pune (Agencies): A suspected ISI agent who allegedly passed on sensitive information allegedly in connivance with an Army jawan posted here, has been arrested by city crime branch.

Vishambhar Agarwal (24), who comes from Haryana, was booked under Official Secrets Act and remanded in police custody for seven days by a local court on Wednesday, Pune Police
Commissioner Meera Borwankar told reporters.

The accused was under official observation for some time and was picked up near Alankar Cinema on Wednesday in a joint operation, in coordination with various state and central investigating agencies.

He had hand-drawn sketch of Southern command headquarters in the city along with some phone numbers of top military officers and CDs containing sensitive information, the Commissioner said.

"He was supposed to hand over the objectionable materials to an unknown person when he was trapped," she stated.

Police were probing the role played by jawan Brijesh Singh in passing on the information, Borwankar added.
