Haridwar: In order to preserve the Holy River Ganga, Swami Gyan Swaroop Sanand has been on fast for the last 12 days. His condition is however stable, said Dr Subrat Arora of the district hospital on Sunday.

Dr Arora said, “The condition of Swamiji is stable. No ketone bodies were found in his urine test. His weight and blood pressure are also stable. We are keeping a strict watch on his health.”

Meanwhile, Shankaracharya Swaroopanand Saraswati’s disciple Swami Avimukteshwaranand visited Swami Gyan Swaroop at Matri Sadan to take note of his condition. Avimukteshwaranand said, “We are ready to give any sacrifice for cleansing the Ganga. The saints play a prominent role in making Uttarakhand as Devbhoomi of the world.”
