Haridwar: Raising his voice for complete ban on mining around the banks of River Ganga, Swami Sivananda Saraswati will sit on fast from Friday. The Ganga Mahasabha Banaras has also extended its support to Swami for the cause.

The Mahasabha has even mentioned about its support on the formation of action force.

Swami had earlier announced about his fast on November 25. The district administration has been appraised about the protest.

Ganga Mahasabha general secretary Acharya Jitendra has assured Swami Sivananda Saraswati for his complete assistance and also said that to tackle the problem he has constituted Nigamanand Action Force which will extend support to the campaign.

Earlier Acharya Jitendra of the Ganga Mahasabha said that the administration is not working towards cleaning the Ganga, instead more and more pollutants are emitted in the holy river.
