Bhopal: Sharpening attack on the UPA government, Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy said that he would move the higher courts within a week challenging the Delhi court’s decision to dismiss his plea to make Union Home Minister P Chidambaram as a co-accused in the 2G scam.

“I will move the Supreme Court or the High Court within a week challenging the lower court’s decision on Chidambaram,” Swamy said while addressing the ‘Meet-The-Press’ programme here on Tuesday.

Swamy further said that Justice Saini, while hearing the petition against Chidambaram had agreed to his most of the points but couldn’t deliver the verdict in his favour as the statements made by him was insufficient to prove criminality on the part of Chidambaram, the then Finance Minister.

Training guns at the UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, he said that he will meet the CBI directorate regarding initiating fresh probe against the Congress leader in the Bofors case.

“I will meet the CBI this week and appeal fresh probe in the role of Gandhi in the Bofors gun purchase deal,” the Janata Party leader said.

In another attack on the Congress, Swamy said that the party will emerge looser in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections and claimed that the political dimensions of the country will witness a drastic change in the coming days.

Accusing the Election Commission of nepotism, Swamy said, “Despite continuous code violations attempts of the senior Congress ministers, the CEC has taken the entire issue reluctantly, giving them another chance.”
