Swaroopanand later gave a clarification saying that media is deliberately asking him questions related to Modi. He said that an effort is being made to keep Modi in the news. Swaroopanand also said that he is not at all interested in whether Modi becomes PM or not.

According to media reports, Swaroopanand lost his temper and slapped a journalist who asked a question over BJP’s prime ministerial candidate during the press conference at the Civic Center in Jabalpur.

On being asked about the slapping controversy, Swaroopanand said that he dislikes political questions. However, he has repeatedly slammed the BJP for declaring a prime ministerial candidate ahead of upcoming general elections.
