Mishra said while the flu has claimed 90 lives, as many as 1052 people have tested positive for the virus. The condition of five of those who tested positive is said to be serious.
The minister added that adequate facilities have been made available to the patients and the necessary medicines have been stocked in all the hospitals.
Meanwhile, 11 new cases of swine flu surfaced in Punjab taking the toll of those tested positive of swine flu to 82. So far, 26 persons have succumbed to swine flu in Punjab.
However, the total number of people in the Kashmir who tested positive for the swine flu virus has climbed to 84 on Thursday.
