New Delhi: The Truecaller, a popular collaborative online phone directory database, was allegedly hacked by the Syrian Electronic Army according to a tweet, which read as follows:

"Sorry @Truecaller, we needed your database, thank you for it :)  #SEA #SyrianElectronicArmy (sic)

The hackers have allegedly claimed to have hacked into more than 7 of the online directory’s database along with its main database. If this is true the hackers could easily access the data of over a million of True caller users including their Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Gmail account information.

However, no conformed report has yet been received from Truecaller with regard to this incident.
