New Delhi: Clearing all speculations of crashing down of one of the seven wonders ‘Taj Mahal’, Union Culture Minister Kumari Selja said, “There is no fear of collapsing or crashing down of the symbol of love.”

Facing several queries on the conservation of the Taj in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, she assured that various surveys have been conducted by several agencies, on whose basis it has been found that the main structure and the minarets of the Taj Mahal are safe and secure.

It is to be noted, some experts had hinted at weakening of the Taj Mahal’s base due to the drying Yamuna. Moreover, the foreign media had even said that the structure will collapse in a few years.

In a reply to a written answer raised on the first day of the winter session, Selja rubbished all doubts on the conservation of the Taj.

“The government is concerned for the Taj Mahal’s safety. The process of its maintenance is a continuous process and is being carried out without any delay,” she added.
