The revenue from consumer products segment, which comprises salt, pulses, spices, water purifiers and other products, was about Rs 1,200 crore at the end of previous fiscal 2013-14, Tata Chemicals Managing Director R Mukundan said.

"We are looking at all other food products which are healthy and nutritious other than ready to eat products like snacks or wafers. We have already launched spices in Punjab and now we are looking to cover entire north-India market," Mukundan said.

Mukundan added that there are three pillars of their business that are chemicals business, farm out put business like pulses and spices, and consumer business like water purifier.

"At the end of last financial year the turnover from consumer products business was about Rs 1,200 crore so what we are targeting ... turnover from this segment should be around Rs 4,000 crore in next five years," he said.
While speaking about the Fertilisers segment, Mukundan added that in coming years the company's focus will be on speciality fertilisers and those fertilisers where subsidy is ot involved.
In fertilisers, Tata Chemicals produces urea in Babrala in Uttar Pradesh with total annual capacity of about one million tonnes and P&K fertilisers in Haldia in West Bengal with capacity of about 1.25 million tonnes per annum.
