New Delhi: Tata Power Co Ltd on Wednesday said it commissioned a 25 MW solar photovoltaic power project at Mithapur in Gujarat through its arm Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd on Jan 25.
"Tata Power has ambitious plan to set up 300 MW of solar power capacity by 2017," the company said in a release.
Shares of Tata Power today ended nearly 6% higher at 110.35 rupees on the National Stock Exchange.

The project, costing around 3.65 bln rupees, is being funded through a 70:30 debt-equity mix, the company said.
The company has signed a power purchase agreement for the project with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd.
Tata Power now has a capacity of over 28 MW of solar and 375 MW wind energy, which makes the company the largest renewable energy utility in India.
