Mumbai: Aiming for expansion, TATA Power intends to set up total 150 MW wind power capacity in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu by December-end.
 
The company had placed an order for 150 MW additional wind capacity to be set up in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu of which 45 MW has already commissioned in April 2011 and the balance is expected to be commissioned till December-end, a press release issued here said.

Presently, TPC has an installed wind power capacity of 273 MW and plants spread across four states including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

During the fiscal, the company also installed two micro horizontal axis wind turbines (2 to 5 kW), it said, adding that TPC was also in the process of installing two vertical axis turbines in FY 12 (5 and 12 kW in capacity, respectively).
