Ranchi: Tata group Chairman Ratan Tata along with the chairman-designate Cyrus Mistry on Friday met Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda and praised his efforts for leading the state ahead on the path of development.

“Soon Jharkhand will feature in the list of developed states,” Ratan Tata said.

During the meeting, Tata also assured the Chief Minister of supporting his government and providing all help in boosting the state’s economy. Tata further offered support to the Jharkhand government’s proposed ‘Knowledge City’ and said "The Tata group will support the proposed 'Knowledge City' and the government’s efforts in skill-training of the youth.”

Praising the Tata Group for extending a helping hand to the state, Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda said, “Tata group has contributed in the development of Jharkhand and the nation as the group expanded with the passage of time.”

The Chief Minister also urged him to help the state government in setting up an IIIT in the state.

On his first visit to the state capital, Cyrus Mistry said, "The Tata group has an important relation with Jharkhand, and it will grow stronger in future. The group will continue to be a partner in the state’s progress."

The Tata group will be celebrating 173rd birth anniversary of Tata Steel founder JN Tata in Jamshedpur on Saturday.
