Harda (MP): As many as 13 gates of the Tawa dam were opened on Sunday following heavy rains which led to increase in water level of the reservoir.
Those living along the banks of Tawa river have been asked to take safety measures, officials said.
People have been asked to stay alert since the water level of the Narmada river and its tributaries was on the rise, they said.
One lakh cusec of water was released from the Tawa dam on Sunday and those living along the banks of river Narmada have been asked to shift to safer places.
Adequate security arrangements have been made to deal with the situation, sources said.
