While Team Anna member Kiran Bedi on Sunday defended the black flag protest by Anna supporters against the Prime Minister saying it was a reflection of people's demand for a strong Lokpal, another team member Santosh Hegde condemned the protest and suggested that the agitation did not have the blessings of Anna Hazare.

Former IPS officer Bedi in defence of the protest said, “Showing black flags is within the law. Hence it is a legitimate protest.”

Meanwhile, a miffed Hegde said, “I am against this kind of demonstrations, be it the Prime Minister, the Leader of Opposition or even leaders like Anna. Anna was also shown black flags in Chennai recently," he said.

"This is no way to treat the Prime Minister of a country or for that matter anybody whose leader who is leading a particular cause," he said.

Terming the incident of a group of people showing black flags to Singh in Amritsar this morning, he said: "I don't think Anna has neither given support nor permission to do the protest."
