"It is sad to see Tarun Tejpal blaming BJP. He is trying to shield behind this. Blaming BJP and giving political colour to the case will not help him," he said.

Thakur, who is the chief of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), said that Tejpal should present himself before the Goa Police to record his statement.

"Why Congress is defending him is best known to Congress,” he said, while targeting the ruling party at the Centre.
Thakur alleged that leaders of Congress-ruled states were involved in cases of crime against women, and said there should be more social awareness on safety and security of women.
Thakur, who was here to launch BJYM's national campaign, said the youth, who are feeling insecure because of the directionless policies of Congress-led UPA government, would throw the government out of power and bring in Narendra Modi government.
Commenting on the ceasefire violation by Pakistani forces, Thakur said the Congress is "playing dangerously with our national security".
While Pakistan repeatedly violated the ceasefire, attacking Army Camps, and the Chinese entered Indian Territory posing serious threats, our government remained a mute spectator on such a critical issue, he said.
On Modi's proposed rally in Jammu on December 1, Thakur said that it was a concern for Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, adding that the state was bound to gain from him.
