New Delhi: The term of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on 2G scam has been extended till the end of the Budget session next year.

The Lok Sabha approved a motion on the issue moved by panel chief P C Chacko.    This is the fourth extension of the committee set up in March last year.

The JPC, consisting of 20 members from Lok Sabha and 10 from Rajya Sabha, was constituted to look into the entire gamut of policy prescriptions in the telecom sector from 1998 to 2009.

The term of the committee was to end on December 20, the last day of the ongoing Winter Session.
