New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Friday claimed to have busted Hizbul Mujahideen module saying that they have unearthed a plot to create terror in the national capital ahead of Holi. The Delhi Police Special Cell said that arrested terrorist revealed that the terror attacks were plotted to avenge Afzal Guru's hanging.

Addressing a press conference after the arrest, Special Commissioner, Delhi Police SN Srivastava said the involvement of Pakistan as he said that arrested man was sent by Pakistani agencies and had a Pakistani passport.

The alleged operative Liaqat Ali was on way to Delhi in a train when he was arrested from Gorakhpur, police said. "Liaqat was given Pakistani passport and told to destroy it when in Kathmandu. He was to reach Delhi and select targets to hit," he said.

"Liaqat was staying in Pakistan, he had been in Pakistan since 1997. He has been crossing the border every now and then, it is clear that he was being trained in Pakistan," Delhi Police said.

During search operation, we found three hand grenades, 1 AK 56 and other material, Delhi Police said.

During the interrogation, the man confessed that a bomb blast in Delhi was being planned. Going by the man's confession in the statement, police were able to recover one AK-47 and some explosives from the Jama Masjid area in Delhi.
