New Delhi: David Miller smashed a sensational century off just 38-ball against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday to keep Kings XI Punjab afloat in play-off race.

Chasing a mammoth target of 190, Miller along with Rajgopal Sathish went on rampage and destroyed the tone of RCB bowlers, especially in last five overs of their chase.

The duo managed to unprecedentedly fetch 99 runs off the last five overs, resulting into a dramatic six-wicket win over the mighty Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The match turned into ‘one man show’ as soon as David Miller took charge between the wickets after Gurukeerat Singh was dismissed by RCB tweaker Murali Kartik in seventh over.

The misery of Punjab continued and in a major setback, Kings XI lost their fourth wicket in the form of skipper David Hussey. At the time, Punjab were struggling at 68 for four at the end of their tenth over.

All die-hard Kings XI fans lost hope when Punjab was 85 for 4 after 13 overs. Scoring 106 runs of 42 balls from here on was going to be a big ask.

However, Miller kept his cool at the other end and took responsibility to lead his team from front. Keeping in mind the huge target set by mighty Royal Challengers, Miller started his sensational knock and ruined the Bangalore bowling attack.

Miller rained runs for King XI and scored his fifty off just 24 balls. Out of his fifty, 36 runs came off boundaries.

The fortunes too went Miller’s way, as he was dropped twice -- first by Chris Gayle and then by skipper Virat Kohli. Interestingly, Miller collected 17 runs from that very over of in-form paceman Vinay Kumar.

But the show was not over yet. David Miller further fueled his innings and smashed maiden IPL century in just 38 balls. Surprisingly, batting under pressure, his second fifty came off just 14 deliveries.

Royal Challengers were in shock and stood helplessly in the field as Miller went hammer and tongs and fetched 26 runs from RP Singh’s over.

Concluding the match in Punjab’s favour, Miller completed his century with a massive six off the last ball of 18th over.

Such was his innings that even the RCB skipper heaped praises on him and said, “One of the best innings anyone has ever seen in the IPL."

This marvelous inning will certainly boost the confidence of Kings XI for future matches.
