No interviews for junior level government jobs
From January 1, 2016, there will be no recruitment with interview at the junior level posts in Government of India ministries, departments, attached and subordinate offices, autonomous bodies and PSUs.

Implementation of odd-even scheme
In a bid to curb pollution, the Delhi government has announced an odd-even formula from January 1 for restricting the number of motor vehicles plying on the roads. According to this formula, a motor vehicle whose registration number ends in an odd digit will be allowed on the roads on odd-numbered dates and a vehicle whose registration number ends in an even digit will be allowed to be driven on roads on even-numbered dates.

Revised charges for hiring lockers at SBI
The rent for hiring a locker as well the account maintenance charges will register a hike from January 1, 2016. Getting a loan from SBI could be a bit expensive as there will be a rise in service charges and processing fees of loans.

No LPG subsidy for tax payers earning over Rs 10 lakh per year

Ban on registration of diesel-run vehicles
To check the rise in pollution in the National Capital Region, the Supreme Court banned the registration of diesel-run SUVs and cars having engines beyond 2000 cc in Delhi and NCR from January till March 2016.

TRAI asks telecom operators to compensate for call drops
Sectoral regulator, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), has made it mandatory for telecom operators to compensate consumers by one rupee for call drops with effect from January 1, 2016. However later, TRAI told the Delhi High Court that no coercive steps would be taken against telecom companies till the next date of hearing on January 6 for not complying with the call drop compensation norms.

Government makes PAN mandatory on bills, airfares for blackmoney check
PAN will be made mandatory from January 1 for cash payment made to settle hotels bills or for buying foreign travel tickets of Rs 50,000 as the government tightened disclosure norms to check generation of domestic blackmoney.
