Chandauli (UP): Over 10,000 people from different walks of life on Sunday visited the 'Red Ribbon Express' an exhibition train to create awareness on AIDS/HIV now stationed at Mughalsarai railway station of Uttar Pradesh.

"The heavy turnout is an outcome of the awareness among people in Chandauli. Much of the credit goes to the folk artists who visited the remote villages in mobile vans to create awareness on HIV/AIDS," Chandauli District Magistrate Pawan Kumar said.

District health officials, voluntary organisations came forward to lend their support to make the event successful, he said.

Fear and myths of the disease among people were removed and HIV patients were motivated to lead a dignified life, he said.

School children along with their parents from rural areas of the district visited the Red Ribbon Express.
