Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh police on Saturday arrested three people for allegedly cheating HDFC bank by taking loans worth Rs 21lakh through fake documents.

Three men were arrested while the police are on a lookout for a woman who accompanied them in the allegedly forgery in the S P Nagar branch of HDFC bank for a loan of Rs 21 lakh. They had produced fake documents for availing personal loans.

According to the police sources, the officials of the private company who verified the documents of the accused are also involved in executing the crime.

After initial enquiries a case of forgery and cheating has been registered against Deepak alias Hemant Sharma, Devendra alias Devesh, Venu Dubey, Suresh, Hari Sahnker Dubey, Santosh Soni, Gajendra Singh, Shailendra Tomar, Rajkumar and Bahrat Rathore.

“We had arrested Hemant on Friday while he was in the bank to collect the loan amount. After getting crucial links from him we had made further arrests on Saturday”, police sources added.
