According to a senior government official, during the three-day long discussion, experts from the government and private sector will focus on financial models, technical architecture, policy framework and regulatory issues which deal with Wi-Fi services.

The discussion is organised by the Department of Information Technology along with Delhi government's advisory body Delhi Dialogue Commission (DDC).

Speaking on the occasion, DDC Vice Chairman Ashish Khetan said that we are committed to implement the government's promise of providing free Wi-Fi access and the right to internet to every citizen in Delhi.

"Universal access to internet is a transformative idea that can empower citizens and provide them a level playing field irrespective of economic status, educational qualifications, gender, race or religion," he added.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia urged the industry leaders, service providers and IT experts to think of ideas and applications to make Delhi a better place to live in.
