People with their roots in Uttarakhand constitute some 20 percent of the Delhi's electorate and campaigning by party leaders from the hill state can brighten chances of the BJP nominees, senior state party leader Urbadutt Bhatt said in Dehradun.

Among those summoned by the party's central leadership to drum up support for BJP candidates in Delhi were three former CMs - Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri, Bhagat Singh Koshiyari and Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank - and Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly Ajay Bhatt, he said.

Khanduri and Koshiyari have already reached Delhi for the purpose while Nishank, Bhatt, state BJP chief Tirath Singh Rawat and his predecessor Bishan Singh Chufal will soon be joining them, he said.
