Mumbai: All India Chess Federation for the Blind (AICFB) is sending a three-member team to take part in the Junior World Chess Championship for the Blind at Rhodes in Greece from August 28 to September 4.

The players picked for the event are national junior number 1 Kishan Gongolli (Karnataka), Darpan Inani (Gujarat) and S T Saikrishna (Tamil Nadu) and they would be accompanied by coach K Visweswaran and Charudatta Jadhav, vice president of the International Braille Chess Association, a media release said on Friday.

Players have been selected to represent India by virtue of their performance in the National 'A' Championship, held in May 2011 at Nanded, the release said.

The junior world championship for the blind is organised by International Braille Chess Association, which is the world's apex body for chess for the blind, it added.
