Lucknow: Three Peace Party MLAs, who quit on Saturday are now planning to join the ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh.

According to the sources, aiming at political ambition and considering no future in Peace Party, the three MLAs decided to switch loyalties to the SP.

The MLAs accused national president Mohammad Ayub of working closely with BJP leaders to "create communal unrest in the state".

"We cannot be a party to any anti-people act and hence have decided to quit," Akhilesh Singh said whereas party chief Mohammad Ayub alleged the ruling Samajwadi Party of luring away his MLAs.

Peace Party made a debut in Uttar Pradesh assembly by winning four seats in the assembly polls held this year. The party’s national president Mohammad Ayub won from Khalilabad, general secretary Akhilesh Singh from Rae Bareli, Kamal Yusuf Mallik from Doomariyaganj and Anees-ur-Rehman from Kanth assembly seat.

Now with three of them quitting, the party president Mohammad Ayub is the sole legislator of Peace Party.
