High speed wind was experienced in Patna and other parts of Bihar this afternoon which was followed by rain.

Director State Meteorological Department A K Sen told reporters the thunder squall and rain was due to due to cyclonic circulation arising from Bay of Bengal formed near Jharkhand.

He said an alert has been sent to the state government about thunder squall and moderate rainfall in almost half of the districts of Bihar till April 30.

Sen added rain would be moderate. High speed wind and rains were experienced in major parts of Bihar including East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Darbhanga and elsewhere.

In capital Patna weather the weather turned cloudy in the afternoon and rain followed by high speed wind started around 1 PM.

Due to inclement weather Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's programme to Raxual has been rescheduled and now he would gothere on Indo-Nepal border by road instead of helicopter, Chief Minister's Office said.
