Lucknow: Light to moderate rains occurred at few places over Eastern Uttar Pradesh even as Western parts of the state continued to remain dry and hot.

Maximum rainfall of 18 cm was recorded in Bhinga followed by Katarniaghat at 10 cm, MeT department said.

While the day temperatures fell in Gorakhpur divisions, the temperatures in Agra, Meerut and Moradabad divisions remained above normal, MeT office said.
 
Etawah at 44.6 degree Celsius was the hottest place in the state. MeT department has forecast rains and thundershowers at few places in Uttar Pradesh in the next 24 hours.
