New Delhi: It seems that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is engaged in registering false cases of illegal constructions in the court and when it comes to proving them, the civic agency does not have any concrete answer to it.

Recently, the Tis Hazari court in Delhi dismissed as many as 64 cases registered by the MCD regarding illegal constructions and advised the concerned officials to exercise restraint.

Drawing flak from the court, Metropolitan Magistrate Anil Garg had to issue summons to MCD Commissioner KS Mehra.

The civic agency is quite active in registering cases against illegal constructions but when it comes to proving them, the MCD fails to give points to substantiate them.

The court dismissed around 64 cases in the last six months which shows the lax attitude of the authorities.

Notably, Tis Hazari court had rejected 50 cases few months back and 14 cases on September 6.

During the hearing of the cases, the court reprimanded the MCD and observed the reckless attitude of the MCD officials.

The court said the MCD officials fail to appear despite summons, which show their wrongful intentions to build pressure on the people.
