Kolkata: After trouncing the Left Front in West Bengal, Trinamool Congress (TMC) Chief Mamata Banerjee has started the preparations to form the state cabinet.

In order to strengthen the education, health, law and order machinery in the state, she is likely to keep these key ministries with herself.

Mamata asserted that her government will abolish the concept of three education departments launched by the left government in West Bengal. According to the TMC supremo, to streamline the educational facilities in the state, the entire education department will be brought under one ministry.

Partha Chatterjee, Shobhandeo Chattopadhyay, Firhad Hakim, Subrata Bakshi, Sujit Basu, Divendu Adhikari, Madan Mitra, Shiva Mitra are likely to be inducted in the new state cabinet led by Mamata Banerjee, sources said.

In a bid to give equal representation to all the districts of West Bengal, she is likely to follow the ‘One District One Minister’ formula.
Following this formula, party legislator from Vardhawan, Ravi Ranjan Chatterjee is expected to get the cabinet berth.

The TMC Chief has invited the Congress to be the part of the state cabinet. If Congress accepts the request, possibilities are high that state party president Manas Bhuian and Congress stalwart Pranab Mukherjee’s son Abhijit would be inducted in the state cabinet.
