Kolkata: Trinamool Congress general secretary Mukul Roy has urged party workers to ensure that the state-wide protest programme is peaceful and democratic on Wednesday against the heckling of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and manhandling of Finance Minister Amit Mitra by SFI workers in Delhi.

PM expresses regret over attack on Mamata

"Our protest programme will be peaceful and not in line with that of the CPI(M) under any circumstance," he had said condemning the manhandling of Mitra and blocking of the passage of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee by SFI activists near Yojna Bhavan in Delhi.

He alleged that CPI(M) had always been 'undemocratic' in its movement which "We will never be". "Our culture does not match that of the CPI(M)," the Trinamool Congress MP said.
