Kolkata: Lashing out at the Mamata government in West Bengal, former Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee said that the seven months of the Trinamool Congress government has landed the state in a complete mess.

"The loans the present government has taken are three times what we had taken. The financial position of the government is not at all good," Bhattacharjee said during the 46th foundation day of CPI-M mouthpiece Ganashakti here.

“The agriculture sector is in deep crisis as the farmers are being deprived of even the investment made by them, leave alone the profit. Moreover, the panchayat system is also crumbling in the state,” he added.

Highlighting the condition of industries in the state, he said, “The trade is shambles as the industrialists have understood that the state offers nothing to them in terms of investment opportunities.”

“The Mamata government has no industrial policy as all the ongoing projects boasted by her like Wipro, Infosys and Jindal steel factory in Salbani as well as the new airport in Panagarh are those initiated by the former CPI (M) government,” the former CM said.
