Madurai: Tamil Nadu Government was taking steps to set up medical shops run by cooperatives in 100 important towns across the state and make them function round-the-clock to enable public get medicines at a cheaper price, Cooperatives Minister Sellur K Raju said on Saturday.
  
Inaugurating a cooperative medical shop here, he said Chief Minister Jayalalithaa had ordered opening of 100 shops in the state, through cooperatives.
  
Customers would get 15 percent rebate on medicines purchased from the Cooperative stores, he said.
  
The medical shops would be linked with computers to find out the expiry date and stocks requirement.
