Los Angeles: Superstar Tom Cruise is in search of a leading lady for his upcoming movie 'One Shot', an adaptation of author Lee Child's crime thriller.

The 49-year-old actor is considering actresses like Hayley Atwell, Alexa Davalos and Rosamund Pike for the role. The movie is penned by Christopher McQuarrie, who wrote Cruise's 'Valkyrie' movie, according to reports.

The film follows the story of Jack Reacher, an ex-Army cop who gets sucked into the mystery surrounding the arrest of a sniper, accused of killing five random people in a shooting.

The female role will be of a tough lawyer and daughter of the district attorney.

Atwell is best known for her female lead opposite Chris Evans in 'Captain America', whereas Davalos last appeared in 'Clash of the Titans' as Andromeda and counts 'Defiance', 'The Mist' and 'The Chronicles of Riddick' amongst her credits.

Pike drew acclaim for her work in the movie 'Made in Dagenham' and 'Barney's Version'. She also appeared with Carey Mulligan in 'An Education'.
