Top EC officials including Chief Election Commissioner VS Sampath and two Election Commissioners HS Brahma and Nasim Zaidi left for Jaipur on Thursday to hold a meeting with the representatives of various political parties to seek their views on smooth conduct of polls.
    
The EC top brass will hold a meeting with poll officials in the state on Friday and review the election preparedness and arrangements. It will also assess the requirement of central and state police forces for conduct of polls.
    
EC officials have already visited states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh in this regard and also held a meeting with poll officials in Delhi, ahead of announcing the dates for Assembly elections in five states slated later this year.
    
Rajasthan is set to elect its 200-member Assembly before the end of the year as the term of the present House ends on December 31.
    
The CEC and other ECs on Wednesday held a meeting with Home Secretary Anil Goswami on the availability of forces for polls. They also held another meeting with officials of the Department of Telecom for reviewing the communication network during Assembly elections.
       
Five states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Delhi and Mizoram will go to polls later this year to elect their new Assemblies.
