New Delhi: Ex-Comptroller and Auditor General VK Shunglu who cast aspersions on Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, has kept silence on the role of Sports Ministry in connection with the irregularities found during the preparation of CWG.

Pointing finger to the role of Sheila Dikshit and Lt Governor Tejinder Khanna in the implementation of projects related to infrastructure, Shunglu Committee made recommendation for taking action against the officials of PWD, CPWD, MCD and DDA.

In its new report published on Thursday, the Committee has not recommended taking action against any officials including Kalmadi of the Organizing Committee, however it has put a question mark on his role.

Acting on the report of the Committee, CBI has filed an FIR against BS Lali, ex-CEO of Prasar Bharati.

The CBI and Enforcement Directorate (ED) are surprised at the attitude of Shunglu Committee. A senior official said, CBI has filed four FIRs against OC officials and half a dozen people havebeen arrested in this regard.

The CBI had raided Kalmadi houses after interrogation. It had searched the Sports Ministry’s foreign sport department. But Shunglu Committee has not paid attention to it.

The investigative officials had hoped that Shunglu Committee in its report would make recommendation for taking action against the team Kalmadi and officials of the Sports Ministry.
