New Delhi: Seeking to promote tourism on a larger scale, Union Tourism Minister Subodh Kant Sahai and Culture Minister Kumari Selija jointly released Incredible India Promotional Calendar 2012 in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The Tourism Minister has also sought more funds from the government to develop several tourist places in the country.  Around 5.5 lakh foreign tourists visit the country annually.
Sahai expressed hope that the calendar will play an important role in promoting tourism in the country.

Earlier, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had also stressed on the need to promote tourism in India.

The calendar depicts Taj Mahal, the back waters of Kerala, Lotus Temple of Delhi, Golden Temple, Mahabodhi tree of Bodhgaya, Gurudongmar Lake of Sikkim.

The promotional calendars of the Ministry of Tourism are widely distributed in India as well as in Foreign Missions, with the objective of promoting the tourism destinations of the country.
