Noida: The Delhi-Noida-Delhi flyway continued to witness heavy traffic jams on Sunday after the Noida Toll Bridge Company Limited (NTBCL) made the stretch toll-free during the peak hours from Saturday.

In a step to prevent long queues on the toll booths at the DND flyway, the NTBCL had directed the DND authority to make the stretch toll-free during morning and evening peak hours till the time repair work was on at Kalindi Kunj bridge.

But the move failed to serve the actual purpose leading to the worsening of traffic conditions and adding to more woes for the commuters.

According to DND spokesperson, Anwar Abbasi, 30 percent of traffic has increased on DND flyway after the toll-free decision.

In a bid to take advantage of no toll charges between 9 and 10 am and from 5 to 7 pm, the commuters were witnessed preferring to move during the happy hours, hence leading to heavy traffic jams.
