Patna: The transporters from Bihar will take part in the indefinite strike called by the apex transports' body - All India Motor Transport Congress (AIMTC) - from April 1.

The protest is against the hike in third party insurance premium, the Bihar Motor Transports Federation (BMTF) President Uday Singh said.
About 90,000 trucks and 25,000 passengers buses will stay of the road as our transporters will join the AIMTC's call for indefinite strike from April 1 to protest hike in the third party insurance premium by the Centre and also to press for other demands like time-bound disposal of insurance claims, fixation of jurisdiction and amount of insurance claims, he said in a statement.
A meeting of the transporters under the banner of the BMTF will be held in the state capital on March 29 next to discuss the details about the proposed strike by the transporters, Singh said.
