The train comprising 10 coaches and one locomotive runs at a speed of 160 kmph. The semi high-speed train service is likely to start by November this year. India’s fastest train at present is Bhopal Shatabdi Express that runs at 150 kmph between Delhi and Agra route.

DRM of Delhi Division Anurag Sachaan said, “The trial train left the New Delhi Railway Station this morning and is scheduled to reach Agra in 90 minutes.”

The high speed train left the New Delhi Railway Station this morning from platform number six and reached Agra. However, it took 100 minutes to cover the distance, whereas the targeted time is 90 minutes.

Railways will run similar trains for Kanpur and Chandigarh from the national capital.
